Part of the Ancient Inspirations Series.  Elemental at its core.  Earth kisses the sun.  Soil, dirt & clay encounters intense, glowing fire.  There is a harmony expressed here between creation and the sun.  I painted a visual expression of  the anticipation experienced while waiting for Fall which I feel as a display of passion between the sun and earth.  Soft, earthy & bright hues melded with swift strokes create deep feelings of comfort amidst ever changing motion beneath the heavens.
 
There is something ancient about this series. The soft tones and hues and the way they stained the organic canvas feel old, tried, tested and true. The pieces in this collection point to a connection found between what we call modern and what we understand as ancient. I thought a lot about how God is referred to as the Ancient of Days. Objects like a compass, gyroscope, seasons, seaports and quantum physics came to mind as I painted.
